Grant Support by the Berkshire Taconic Community Fund

We were honored to receive a grant from the Northeast Dutchess Fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in support of expanding our equine programs. Our work was also featured in the Foundation’s recent newsletter, highlighting the impact of this support on our mission and the lives we touch every day. Suffolk County Animal Sanctuary Charged with Over 100 Counts Of Animal Neglect
February 14, 2025

13 Hands Equine Rescue assisted in the rescue operation at Double D Bar Ranch in Manorville, NY, securing a safe haven for Lucky Charm, a pony who was among one of the hundreds of neglected animals. Lucky Charm received immediate veterinary care to prevent life threatening ailments, including the removal of his left eye due to cancer. READ MORE.

 
 
Community Efforts for Hitch: A Heartfelt Farewell
February 5, 2025

On February 5th, our 13 Hands community experienced a profound loss with the passing of Hitch, a beloved farm favorite. On February 3rd, Hitch and another mare fell on the ice, prompting a widespread rescue effort involving firefighters and local community members.
