At 13 Hands Equine Rescue, we are always looking for ways to help horses in need. That’s why, when we heard about four thoroughbreds who needed a soft landing, we knew we had to step in. These horses were not only unhandled and untrained, but they also had a bond so strong that they could not be separated. They had never raced and never been ridden.

We made the decision to give these four the opportunity of a lifetime. We arranged for their transport from New York to Virginia, where they were welcomed by our partners at Pacific Farms Inc., a professional training facility. There, they are receiving the care, attention, and education they need to become healthy, happy, and confident horses.

The journey is life changing and full of promise for these extraordinary horses. With patience, compassion, and skill, the dedicated trainers at Pacific Farms Inc. are working with the horses to earn their trust and pave the way for a bright future.

They have learned how to wear saddles and bridles, how to be groomed and handled, how to enjoy the outdoors and the company of other horses, and how to have fun and relax. More importantly, they are now ready for farrier, deworming, dental and veterinary care. They have each shown their own personalities, talents, and potential.

These four thoroughbreds are ready for their forever homes. They are:

Kiss, a sweet, bay mare with a star on her forehead.

Vivid, a big, bay gelding with a lot of presence.

BayBay and Okie, two gosh-darned identical bay geldings.
