Meet Andie

Andie

Gender: Mare
Age: Young
Year of Birth: 2022
Ability: Needs Training
Availability: Ready to Adopt

Andie is a sensitive mare who’s still learning that humans can be safe, predictable partners. She currently requires sedation for the farrier, but she’s been making small, meaningful steps forward. She recently began allowing volunteers to gently touch her face, mostly through the fence where she feels more secure.

When you enter the paddock, Andie will still walk or trot away, choosing distance over interaction. She isn’t fully trusting yet, and she’ll need an adopter who understands that progress for a horse like her comes in quiet moments, not big leaps.

With patience, consistency, and a calm presence, Andie has the potential to continue building confidence. She’s looking for someone who appreciates the slow, steady work of helping a fearful inexperienced horse feel safe in her own body and in the world around her.

If you’re the kind of person who celebrates tiny breakthroughs and believes in meeting a horse exactly where they are, Andie may be the perfect partner for you.

Help us continue to save abandoned and at-risk horses.
